What is One Search?

Try One Search!

One Search is an easy-to-use library search engine that simultaneously searches all types of library content such as books, ebooks, journal articles, videos and more. Searchers no longer have to choose from a list of dozens of database to begin searching!

Why use One Search?

  • quick and intuitive to use
  • good for interdisciplinary research or for when you are just getting started on a topic
  • will return more results than if you are searching only the library catalog or a specific subject database

Does it include everything that the library owns?

One Search does not search all databases the JFK University Libraries subscribe to. Some databases are not included in OneSearch at this time due to publisher restrictions or technical issues, such as PsycInfo and Health and Wellness Resource Center. Those databases can be searched as separate resources. More content will be added to OneSearch as it becomes available.

Filter Search Results

One Search is a huge database that often returns hundreds of thousands of results. To get better results it helps to apply filters to your search results. For examples:

  • Use the facets on the left column to refine your results
  • Limit to Scholarly & Peer Review to find academic journal articles
  • Limit by content type Book/ebookJournal Article, or Video

Advanced Search

Use advanced search to exercise greater control over your results. Search a specific field such as title or author, and expand your search beyond the library to find items you can request via Interlibrary Borrowing.
